Upcoming Artist Workshop

The Alvin Community College Art Department will again host artist Randy Brodnax for a visiting artist workshop on March 1-2.

Brodnax is a Dallas-based artist who will demonstrate his techniques with throwing pottery, firing methods, Raku pottery and more. He travels throughout the continent delivering workshops to pottery enthusiasts. Brodnax’s clay techniques can be utilized for several forms of pottery whether it is functional dinnerware or decorative pieces.

The workshop is part of the Visiting Artists at ACC Art Studios program, which invites painters, sculptors and illustrators to the campus to teach their unique styles.

The Visiting Artists program is sponsored by the ACC Foundation through an Innovative Initiative Grant. The Innovative Initiative Grants are designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward innovative and creative approaches to fulfill the mission of ACC.

The workshop will be held outside Building J. Gumbo, beignets and more will also be served to participants.
