Free Seminar on Facial Rejuvenation and Laser Hair Removal

Another class of Laser Hair Removal Students Alvin Community College will start in April with a new instructor. Plastic surgeon Dr. Swet Chaudhari will offer provide a lot information about what's expected on the job.

Dr. Chaudhri said there is a great need for laser hair removal technicians because of a change in state requirements.

"I'd like to get more people trained in it," he said. "Demand has been growing. The industry is very huge right now."

Dr. Chaudhri also will give a lecture at ACC on March 26 regarding non-surgical methods for facial rejuvenation.

In 2011 state regulators issued requirements that all aesthetic laser hair removal technicians receive at least 40 hours of training. Not long after, ACC created a program to meet the demand.

"He's going to offer the highest quality education possible," she said. "He will help them meet or even exceed the expectations in the industry."

He has operated his practice, Sun Coast Plastic Surgery, in Friendswood for the past four years. He is also the medical director at the Divinity Med Spa and Wellness in Friendswood, which offers a wide range of services that includes laser hair removal.

Dr. Chaudhri will teach 32 hours of the 44 hour aesthetic laser hair removal program.
Training will cover a wide variety of topics including patient safety, laser physics, skin typing, skin reactions, post treatment and much more.

"They'll get a good background on important aspects such as skin anatomy as well," Ebert said.
